Investigations In Algebra An Approach to Using Logo

By Cuoco, Albert

Investigations in Algebra is aimed at high school students and teachers and introduces topics in algebra, number theory, and combinatorics. It uses the Logo programming language to construct computational algorithms that model the mathematical algorithms described in the book and to help students devise constructive proofs of their conjectures. It is based on work with students at Woburn High School in Massachusetts and with teachers in a summer program at Kent State University in Ohio. The development centers around hundreds of problems throughout the text and emphasizes ways of thinking characteristic to algebra.
